Not next year. Tomorrow morning: twice the calls, twice the quotes, twice the bookings. You already know what would break, because the cracks are showing at today's volume.
The phone rings while you're up a ladder or in with a patient, and it rings out. The enquiry that landed on Monday gets its quote on Thursday. The same booking is typed into the diary, then the spreadsheet, then the accounts package. Somebody filled in your web form on Tuesday, it's Friday, and nobody has answered them. Friday itself goes on paperwork.
Those are the leaks. Every business that runs on enquiries, quotes and bookings has a few of them, and none of them ever appear on an invoice. We're webs.ie, a Dublin web studio that builds websites and AI phone and chat systems for small Irish businesses, and this is the question we open our free call with, because it gets a straighter answer than "what could AI do for you".

Two answers, and each one points at a different first fix.
Ask the question properly and you usually get one of two answers.
The first is "everything would fall over". You'd manage the customers, but the admin behind them would bury you. Your bottleneck is delivery, and the first fix is the boring, repeatable job that eats hours: the quote typed by hand, the booking copied three times, the invoice chased on a Sunday night.
The second is "we'd cope fine, if they ever showed up". Your bottleneck is demand, and the first fix is the enquiry that never got answered, the call that went to voicemail, the page a customer gave up on before it loaded.
Treat that as a diagnostic rather than a law. Some businesses have both. But one plain answer to one plain question already tells you where to look first, and it costs nothing to ask.

Name the number before you build anything.
Every AI project worth paying for moves one of three numbers: time saved, mistakes cut, or money made. If nobody can say which one, and by roughly how much, it isn't a project yet. It's a hobby.
So the number comes first. Before anything gets built, you measure a baseline week: how many calls went unanswered, how many hours went on quotes, how many web enquiries got no reply. Dull work. It's also the only way you'll ever know whether the fix did anything.
Three examples, all our own clients, all named on our offer page. Pro Auto Repairs, a garage in Dublin 12, had after-hours calls going to voicemail while the team was under a car; an AI phone receptionist now answers them 24/7 and takes the booking. Happy Tails Detective, an emergency pet-recovery service, had a site too slow for a panicking pet owner; we rebuilt it for speed and its mobile PageSpeed score, Google's speed mark for phones, went from 56 to 84; higher means the page arrives sooner. Peter Dooley, an independent journalist, had 748 videos nobody could search; the archive is now searchable by transcript. In each case the number was picked before the work started.
Sometimes the fix is a €20/month tool you can set up yourself in an afternoon. When that's true, our audit report says so. The audit is a diagnosis, not a brochure.

Big companies hire someone for this. You don't have to.
There is now a job in large companies that consists of exactly this: walk the floor, find the task worth automating, build the fix, measure it. That person doesn't ask ChatGPT clever questions. They notice the quotes go out on Thursday and fix why.
Big firms pay well for that person. PwC's 2026 Global AI Jobs Barometer, built on more than a billion job ads in 27 countries, found roles asking for AI skills advertise a 62% wage premium, up from 25% two years earlier.
And most of that spend still isn't landing. McKinsey's November 2025 State of AI survey of nearly 2,000 executives found 88% of organisations now use AI in at least one business function, but only 7% say it is fully scaled and just 39% report any bottom-line impact. That is why we won't run a "pilot" for you. Pilots are how big companies avoid picking a number.
Ireland is further behind than the noise suggests. According to the CSO's Information Society Statistics 2025 (published February 2026), 17.2% of small Irish enterprises with 10–49 staff used any AI technology in 2025, against 57.7% of large firms. If you've done nothing yet, you're in the majority, so there's no need to panic. There is a reason to pick carefully.
You can't hire that person. You can have someone spend one afternoon walking your week with you, pick one number, and price one fix. That is what our €600 audit is, and the whole deal is below.
A few rules that keep this safe and boring.
We only use tools your business is allowed to use. No customer data goes into anything nobody approved, and GDPR binds us the same way it binds you. Small, boring, repeatable jobs come first, because that's where the hours are and where the risk isn't. And every fix is handed over working, with a walkthrough in plain English, so you're not renting a black box from us.
The deal, in plumber English.
Start with a free 20-minute call. You talk, we listen. If we can't hear a leak worth measuring, we say so on the call and part as friends: no report, no invoice.
If there is something, the AI Opportunity Audit is €600, fixed. It costs you one afternoon of your time and a look at your call log and diary. We map your week, measure the leaks with real call logs and real hours, and in 5 working days you get the AI Opportunity Map: your leaks ranked by what they cost, a baseline week, one recommended fix per leak with a fixed price and timeline, the ideas to skip named out loud, and a 30-minute walkthrough call.
Fixes start from €499, and bigger sprints from €1,500; usually one of the builds we already run, such as an AI phone receptionist, a chat concierge, a lead page, or a custom automation. Pay €600 for the diagnosis. Book any recommended fix within 30 days and the full €600 comes off the price of the job. If the audit can't find at least its own price in recoverable time or money, you don't pay for it. Find nothing, pay nothing. Either way the map is yours to keep, with us or without us, and there is an illustrative sample of one on the offer page.

One afternoon, one number.
You don't need an AI person on payroll. You need one afternoon and one number.
Free 20-minute call. If we can't hear a leak worth measuring, we say so and you owe nothing.
